CHOOSE HEALING AND GROWTH OVER STAGNATION

Have you been carrying the burden and baggage of a painful past for too long? Has your wound become the first thing people meet when they meet you? When people spend time in your presence, do they leave feeling better, lighter, and encouraged, or do they leave feeling heavier? Has what hurt you begun to shape how you see yourself, how you treat others, and how you experience the life God has given you?

These are not questions meant to condemn us. They are questions meant to help us pause, look inward, and honestly examine what we may still be carrying.

Today, I want to encourage you to pause for a moment and imagine yourself healing. Imagine yourself healed. No longer carrying the same bitterness, sadness, disappointment, or weight from what happened to you. Instead, picture yourself whole, thriving, happy, and deeply grounded in your faith. 🤎

Imagine walking into a room and your light is no longer dimmed by what you’ve been through. You smile big again. You laugh freely. You begin noticing the beautiful things around you. You take pictures of places, moments, and people who inspire you. You become more present in your own life instead of constantly reliving the parts that hurt you.

Imagine becoming healthier emotionally, spiritually, mentally, and physically. You reinforce your boundaries without building walls around your heart. You learn that protecting your peace does not require becoming cold or disconnected. You can still love deeply while choosing wisely who and what has access to you.

And perhaps one of the most beautiful parts of healing is this: you feel peace in your heart again. Not because everything in your life is perfect, but because you are learning to trust God with what you cannot change while allowing Him to transform what can still be healed within you.

Take a moment and reflect:

  1. What would the healed and healthier version of me look like?
  2. What am I still carrying that God may be asking me to release?
  3. Has my pain become so much a part of my identity that people encounter my wounds before they encounter who I really am?
  4. When people spend time with me, do they generally leave feeling encouraged and strengthened, or emotionally heavier?
  5. Have I created healthy boundaries, or have my past hurts caused me to build walls?
  6. Is there bitterness, resentment, disappointment, anger, or unforgiveness still taking up space in my heart?
  7. What beautiful things in my present life have I been overlooking because I am still focused on what happened in my past?
  8. What would choosing healing, growth, and maturity look like for me in this season?
  9. Am I willing to do the work required to become healthier and more whole?
  10. What is one intentional step I can take today toward the peace, healing, and life I have been praying for?

Hold these Scriptures close as you reflect:

📖 Psalm 147:3 KJV
“He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.”

📖 Isaiah 43:18–19 KJV
“Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing…”

📖 Romans 12:2 KJV
“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind…”

Healing does not mean pretending the hurt never happened. It means refusing to allow what happened to have the final say over who you become. You can acknowledge the pain, learn from it, allow God to heal you, and move forward with wisdom, grace, stronger boundaries, and an open heart.

This fall, choose healing, growth, and maturity over stagnation. 🍂🤎

Give God room to heal what hurt, restore what was broken, renew your mind, and grow something beautiful in you from places you once thought could never bloom again.

If this devotional caused you to pause and reflect, spend a few quiet minutes answering these questions honestly. Ask God to show you what needs healing, what needs releasing, and where He is calling you to grow.

And please share this with a friend who may need the reminder that the past does not have to become their permanent home. There is still healing ahead. There is still growth ahead. There is still joy ahead. And with God, there are still beautiful chapters waiting to be lived. 🤎🍂🙏🏾

Always With Love,
Waydia 🤎
