WAYDIA + CO was created with a simple yet meaningful vision: to inspire women to grow in faith, live with purpose, embrace their unique style, and become everything God created them to be. More than a website, this is a growing community where encouragement, inspiration, personal growth, and timeless style come together to support women through every season of life.

This space is built on the belief that who we are is far more important than what we wear. Yet, the way we care for ourselves and present ourselves can be a beautiful expression of the confidence, purpose, and identity we carry within. Here, faith shapes our foundation, purpose guides our journey, and style becomes one of the many ways we express who we are.

Meet Waydia

I’m Waydia Hughes.

Above every title I hold, I am first and foremost a devoted follower of Jesus Christ. My faith is the foundation of my life and influences every decision I make, every message I share, and every platform I build.

I have been blessed to be the devoted wife of my husband, Carlos, for twenty-eight years, and I am the proud mother of three incredible adult children who are each making their own unique impact on the world. Watching them grow into the people God created them to be has been one of my life’s greatest joys.

Born and raised in beautiful Jamaica, I treasure my heritage and carry it proudly wherever I go. After living in the United States for more than thirty years, I affectionately describe myself as “Jamerican,” reflecting my deep love and appreciation for both countries that have shaped my life and journey.

Professionally, I am a registered nurse with more than three decades of healthcare experience and hold a bachelor’s degree in Psychology. My career has given me the privilege of caring for people during some of life’s most vulnerable moments while strengthening my belief that true healing involves the whole person: body, mind, and spirit.

I’m also a blogger, entrepreneur, stylist, encourager, and the founder of WAYDIA + CO.

My desire was never simply to build a clothing boutique. I wanted to create a place where women could grow spiritually, live intentionally, embrace timeless style, pursue personal growth, and discover the confidence that comes from knowing who they are in Christ.

I believe every woman has a story worth telling, gifts worth sharing, and purpose worth pursuing. Through writing, coaching, speaking, fashion, and community, my prayer is to encourage women to own their stories without shame, find healing, continue learning and growing, build healthy relationships, steward their God-given gifts well, and become the women God created them to be.

When I’m not caring for patients, creating content, or serving my community, you’ll usually find me reading. While I have always loved books, this season of life has made audiobooks my preferred way to learn. Audible and Hoopla have become two of my favorite companions, allowing me to continue learning while balancing family, ministry, business, and work.
